Wind Chimes
Located at Panorama Enclave in Jawahar Nagar, Wind Chimes is a residential apartment set on 40 cents of land. The concept of this design is to use a different approach to provide a large home with many rooms, clustered together to create a feeling of compact community living in a single dwelling unit.
While ensuring adequate greenary, the innovative design endeavors to encompass all the conveniences for the end user through layout and structure. The entire façade is designed to optimize climatic considerations and the materials utilized provide long lasting aesthetic value and functional efficacy.
Noel Greenature
Green Nature is the first residential building in Kerala to be awarded the IGBC gold certificate. Promoted by Noel Projects and Properties Green Nature, as the name suggests, are a high-rise of apartments built on 2.5 acres of canted slope, sweeping into its construct, the terrain, and the view, with a simplicity of charm. Each apartment is designed with the idea of giving it the impression of an independent villa. The entry through the garden court acts as an entry compound to the house. Once inside the apartment, it is a delight to discover that the entire layout is separated by small elevations – a couple of steps up lead up to the main verandah, another few steps and you enter the living and dining areas. Interlaced with a couple of open, green terraces at different levels, the apartments wear a feeling of expansiveness. Meticulously manicured with greenery, the terraces also serve as little gateways to nature. The 112 apartments, with an area of upto 23774 sq. ft., are set apart in two separate towers, each with 15 floors, facing the horizon. Built on only 20 percent of the entire area, 80 percent of the remaining area is devoted to a green cover that includes neatly trimmed lawns, dressed with rows of hedges and plants. A common lobby at the ground floor allows access to the apartments; a swimming pool and other amenities outline the entrance.
ICAI
An initiative of The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI), the CMA Bhawan at Vytilla, Ernakulam, is a two storey building on 28.247 cents of land.
The key idea while structuring this building was a single element of conception that would stand the test of time. An exposed- brick façade was chosen in cognizance with the purpose which the institution portrays, reiterating the purpose of moulding the character of the younger generation. As a symbol of protection, framed pergolas are used in the façade. The façade is also composed of large linear elements, signifying discipline and stability of character. In resonance with climatic aspects, the building is oriented in cardinal directions with the façade facing towards the east. A central courtyard has been created which serves as the major element of focus and emphasis as well as a transition space.
On the whole, this architectural project becomes an educational object in itself, in a bid to provide future generations with a healthy living and learning environment.
